Welcome to...11:54pm
“What a little moonlight can do. Wait a while ‘till a little moonbeam comes peepin’ through.” —Billie Holiday
As Dr. Ian Malcolm once said “Life…uh…finds a way”. One might say it’s just my obsession with Jurassic Park, but I say it’s a quote that hits closer to home than we think. Because truly life does find a way. While he was referring to the recreation of dinosaurs, I’m referring to the journey of being in the creative community.
You’re probably wondering how this is all tying in, and sadly you’ll have to read a bit more to find out, but I promise I have a point, and will give you an unforgettable mic drop.
Who am I?
In simple form I am a rising romance author, a nerdy pop culture lover, and media producer. Im a taurus sun, with a sexy taurus rising and a loving sagittarius moon. I’m a lover of everything Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, Fast and Furious and The Fallen Franchise. I’m a die hard Criminal Minds, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Abbott Elementary, Bones, and Try Guys fan. I love reading, writing, movies (it’s my job) and creative journaling. That’s me in a nut shell.
Why I became an author?
Well, I have stories to share. But let me be clear about what those stories are, and what you can expect. I love romance novels. They are my favorite because of how beautiful it can be to see two people truly come together despite their struggles. I didn’t grow up seeing romance. I am an only child who is the product of two divorces, so I never truly witnessed it, and even in my younger years, I didn’t always experience it. It wasn’t until I got older, that I saw how romance could be possible. And sometimes I still struggle with it, because I’m not always sure I can trust it myself. But life has a funny way of showing you things.
I say all of that, to say that my goal is to write stories that I wish I could have seen. I want my readers to envision themselves in my characters, and get that sense of joy from watching to people find love. As a BIPOC author, you will always see characters with various identities, and walks of life. It’s imperative that I show people who look like me or experience similar things. Being very transparent, you will always see Black/African American characters at the forefront of my work. That’s not to say that other ethnicities and cultures won’t be leads, but as a black woman, I am putting them in and letting them get loved on.
Book Talk
My debut novel is currently scheduled to come out Fall of 2025. I’m aiming for October as of right now. There are so many fun things going on in my life, and I want to make sure the story is ready for you all. It’s titled Mission Accomplished and is Book 1 of The Mission Series. It follows two characters named Adrienne and Evan who have both had hard lives. They end up working together when Adrienne gets the job Evan wanted. Through this partnership, Evan falls hard, and fast. Adrienne does too, but struggles with her feelings.
They are indeed my favorite couple of the entire series, and you will probably see that when you get a chance to read them. Their story is very close to my heart, because they both need unconditional love, and they find it in each other. I am very excited to send them out into the world.
What’s Coming?
The rest of this month will be more fun post about the characters, and I will end the month with a blurb reveal. Next month we are showing the lovely cover which I have had for months now. And hopefully some character art! Stay tuned.
The Ride
I hope you stick around with me. Or that you enjoy my stories. Or that you just…hang out. Whatever you choose, I am excited to start sharing things, meet some amazing people and just have a blast.
And remember
Life…and Love will find away.
